The Zen Wood series are koi paintings on wood blanks. Not only can they help bring a little zen to your space, these pieces come with time-lapse videos of how each was created, so they are great conversation starters too. When you are entertaining guests, you can show them a video of the piece on your wall being painted.
The wood pieces are sanded by a medium to fine sanding block and prepared with a layer of white gesso on all except the back surface before painting begins.
This series is currently exhibited at CIC Cambridge (1 Broadway, Cambridge MA 02142)

In memory of the koi pond in the garden at my grandparents' place. There is a lot of tradition behind koi classification and collection. Koi can live an average of 30-35 years and the largest of koi can be quite expensive. A lot of us are too busy with our daily hustles to come to a stop, breath, and meditate. Painting these koi is what helps me find my moment of zen.
This series are smaller paintings using acrylic on stretched canvas, depicting a single koi.
